Homework

We feel that good habits of study must be acquired in the School and this includes regular homework. Children will be given homework as follows:

Year 1	One night a week	Half an hour	Plus daily reading
Year 2	One night a week	One hour	Plus daily reading
Year 3	One night a week	One hour	Plus daily reading
Year 4	Two nights a week	One hour approximately per night	Plus daily reading
Year 5	Three nights a week	One hour approximately per night	Plus daily reading
Year 6	Four nights a week	One hour approximately per night	Plus daily reading

Key Stage 1 children are given a reading record book at the beginning of the year. We ask that parents sign this record book after supervising their child's reading.

Key Stage 2 children are given a homework diary at the beginning of each year. It is the child's responsibility to write down the homework set. We ask parents to sign this diary after supervising that the homework has been satisfactorily completed. If there has been any difficulty with the homework or the child has not been able to complete it for any reason, we ask the parents write an explanation in this diary.
